Stroke of emotions

A tree deep rooted is still free to sway

What good is life without mountains to climb and oceans to cross?

Love finds a way

Emotional musings give rise to the true form of art. These were the pieces inspired by raw emotions. More to come :)

Bucket List

I want to wave at a stranger and smile as they stare.

I want to call an old friend to have a meaningless conversation and laugh till our lungs hurt.

I want to be recklessly in love. just to feel the ripples of my heart beat, just to get hurt.

I want to talk about it to someone over coffee.

I want that coffee to be bitter so that the memory compliments it.

I want to stay up all night reading a book and mourning the loss of my favorite character.

I want those lyrics to remind me of a lover.

I want to keep the letters, movie tickets and key chains just to be reminded of little things.

I want to write all my fears down and send it into the sea in a bottle and watch it float away.

I want to make jokes and argue with someone witty.

I want to travel somewhere far just to feel homesick.

I want to paint this moment just to remember who I was.

Hypocrisis

If someone dressed up in a saree with belly jutting out, having a deep valley cut in the blouse, both front and back with thin pleats and risky strings which can undo the whole tedious two hour process in one pull, it is no big deal. This is part of our tradition and culture. At the same time, a girl dressed up in a lopsided crop top and ripped low waist jeans is incriminated just because she doesn't fall under the society's norms of selective modesty. Her exposed belly is provocative but saree does not buy stares.
One country where spirituality is propagated by feeding lifeless idols and driving away the hungry destitute.
Temples ask for men to remove their shirts and women to cover every inch of their body. A menstruating female is barred from entering a temple, when god himself bestowed the capability of creating life.
A place which lets criminals on the loose and victims behind bars.
Here my friend, you cannot talk to a stranger, but you can sleep with one after the extravagant trade of flesh and money, also known as marriage.
Where people blame rape on skimpy clothes and Chow Mein. Where the policeman beats up his own wife behind closed doors and goes out at night on patrol under the solemn pretext of moral policing.
Every tv show is about powerless women subdued under male dominance with misogyny at its very best.
A place where big bucks are shelled out on campaigning but not a single mouth is fed.
We have moved ten steps ahead in terms of technology and global standards of development but receded a thousand steps backwards when it comes to rationality. The journey to greater heights can't be hiked with haze of backward thoughts clouding our vision.
It is time we get out of the old redundant loop of traditions. No one moves ahead in reverse gear.
Break the hypocrisy and bend the traditions.

Born appetite

If you are setting goals, be true to yourself, get a reality check and accept your shortcomings. Excessive daydreaming over what you expect your life to be will take you far away from reality. It will go from building castles in the sky to sky rocketing self-expectations, eventually losing momentum to the truth.
Human psychology has always been intriguing. We always resort to escapism when it comes to uncomfortable situations. Living on the edge, we fail to acknowledge our biological pre-dispositions. Each one of us are wired differently. Every aspect is unique and and the permutation is entirely distinct. Our current status is an amalgamation of  genetic inheritance, financial and social conditions of upbringing, exposure received and how the chemicals in our brain respond. We do not choose any of this. The base of all the big inspirational stories are rooted in biology itself. The biological dispositions can be modified but not eliminated. If you lack creativity, there is no pushing yourself to be Picaso. There will be some compensation to the lacking traits. The equilibrium of talent is present, but lying undiscovered. There will be some other heightened quality which is not appreciated.

Life is a lot like the food you order at the restaurant. If you follow the herd and order what others like best, you will be killing your own desire. It will only satisfy your hunger not your appetite. Impatience and ego is part of the appetizer part. If you have more of it, you will have no space for main course. You will not even get to the desert, because you are too full of your wrong choices. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach and way to his head is through his heart. So don't poison your desire.

                  Be a donut
                  Wrap your individuality around you
                   And make the toppings scrumptious.
Donut push your boundaries, expand it...
